• 📋 Fill out the Language Background Questionnaire
• 📬 Get a response within 48 hours to confirm eligibility
• 🏫 Attend the in-person eye-tracking session (Task 1) and complete a proficiency test (earn $25)
• 💻 Optionally complete the online reading task (Task 2) (earn $10)
• 💵 Total compensation: up to $35

🧾 What’s Involved

Time Commitment:
• Task 1 (in-person): ~30 minutes
• Proficiency Test (in-person): 5–20 minutes (completed after Task 1)
• Task 2 (online, optional): ~45 minutes

Compensation:
• $25 for the in-person session (Task 1 and Proficiency Test)
• $10 for the optional online reading task (Task 2)
• Total compensation: up to $35

Eligibility

• Ages: 18–50
• Language background:
• Native speaker of Russian
• OR second-language learner of Russian with intermediate to advanced proficiency
• Location: Able to travel to The Graduate Center (Manhattan) or Queens College (Flushing) for the in-person session

🎧 Eye-Tracking Study (Task 1)

What you’ll do:
Listen to Russian sentences and click on matching images while your eye movements are tracked.

Location:
📍 The Graduate Center (Manhattan)
📍 Queens College (Flushing)

Time: ~30 minutes

📝 Proficiency Test

What you’ll do:
Complete a fill-in-the-blank language task to assess your level of Russian.

When & Where:
Right after the Eye-Tracking Study, in the same session and location.

Time: 5–20 minutes

💻 Self-Paced Reading Study (Task 2)

What you’ll do:
Read Russian sentences one word at a time and rate how natural they sound.

Participate from anywhere: Computer only
Time: ~45 minutes
